Mantic Skeletons

So I cracked open and built one unit of the Skeletons. I just want to get the two issues I had with them out of the way.

First since they are 'realistic' scale instead of 'heroic' scale so the models are very slender. I broke one arm ( I got it fixed as that arm had two sections to it ) and I bent a second while trying to pull it off the sprue. I also warped a few weapon handles removing them from the sprue. The second batch I did I had no such problems so it is just a matter of practice.

The second issue I noticed was that the models had a very large about of flash around the edges, it was very light but almost all of the swords and spears had some around the blades.

Now on to the good bits:

The detail is amazing, the models beautiful and they rank up with almost no problems. Each sprue contains ten models of different levels of complexity. Three of them are three piece models ( base, legs, torso ), three are four piece ( base, legs, torso, weapon ), and the last four are five or more pieces ( base, legs, torso, weapon, head, sometimes shield ). I like the mix of complexities as it allows you to crank out a few models fast ( about one minute for the three ) but still gives you lots of options for what to equip them with.

I also love having the little base on the legs as this allows you to build the model standing up and only worry about how they rank up after they are all built and stable. Not that ranking up is an issue the only models I had to worry about ranking up were the front rank command models which was easy as I expected it to be something worth checking.

So far I am very impressed with the Mantic Games models and as I expand my Vampire Counts army I will order more from them.
